Fox Trail Assisted Living, a Virginia Assisted Living division of Raydian Properties, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our team.

The Activities Coordinator role brings joy, meaning, and fun to our community. An Activities Coordinator seeks out opportunities to add to our houses' culture. The role is ensuring that everyone who lives in and visits our community is filled with happiness through positive experience. The Activities Coordinator battles the three plagues that effect seniors; boredom, loneliness and helplessness. Nurturing relationships in our neighborhood will be an important part of your role. The more well-known people are to one another, the more everyone experiences well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Involve both those who live and work in the community to be involved in events.
  • Create a solid volunteer program with external community volunteers.
  • Organize calendar to meet the expectations in our Events and Social Guide.
  • Create a customized, unique environment for each event. Set the mood.
  • Purchase what is required but stay within budget while meeting the expectations in the event and social guide. Manage budget.
  • Positive spontaneous occurrences are good.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Independently spark into action.
  • Deliver experiences and entertainment at the same service level you would expect for your relatives.
  • Respond to the needs of those who live, visit, and work in our community.
  • Spend time "setting the mood" for all events and activities. All decorations should be consistent with the theme and respect for the dignity of adults.
  • Customer Service skills to create an environment that one would expect in the hospitality industry, i.e. to welcome and at make people feel at home during the entire experience.
  • Be a good steward of our environment and resources, make our community a place we can all be proud of.
  • MUST HAVE PRIOR DEMENTIA TRAINING

Physical Demands:

The ability to move freely about, lift or push up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, and reach. Public speaking, reading and writing skills are a must. You must be able to successfully interact with an audience to create a pleasurable experience. You may experience possible exposure to conditions normally expected of Eldercare areas, such as unpleasant sights, odors, and difficult interpersonal situations. The individual who is right for this role must be thick skinned enough to handle the various daily challenges that can cross one's path at an Assisted Living residency.
